Birch Snubbed At NBA Draft

After expecting to hear his name called somewhere in the second round of last night’s NBA draft, former Runnin’ Rebel Khem Birch was left without a team when the nationally-televised program ended.

The two-time Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year elected to opt out of his final year at UNLV to enter the draft. Runnin’ Rebel Coach Dave Rice credited the strong, deep draft for the snub suggesting Birch can still pursue opportunities to play on a summer league team.

Former Runnin’ Rebel Junior forward Roscoe Smith – a bit more of a longshot – also went undrafted.
