(Henderson, NV) — Decisions about medical marijuana dispensaries in Henderson will be made with input from the state.

Henderson is taking a different path toward licensing medical marijuana dispensaries.

Henderson assistant city manager, Bristol Ellington tells the Las Vegas Morning News that if an ordinance is approved by city council the state will have a part in the process.

Applicants would apply to the city. Then if the applicants meet certain criteria they applications would be forwarded to the state. The state would then rate the applications and send the list back to Henderson.

Ellington says Henderson could begin taking applications on July 7th, with a deadline of July 17th.
