It’s been a while since Floyd Mayweather Jr. used the nickname “Pretty Boy.” In fact, we haven’t heard him called that since long before each of his last nine fights earned him upwards of $25 million dollars per night. Now he’s known simply as “Money.” Floyd “Money” Mayweather. Even his entourage has been dubbed “The Money Team.” And for good reason.

For the second time in three years, Mayweather’s heading Forbes’ magazine’s list of the World’s Top Paid Athletes. The $105 million earned during the past 12 months easily makes him the top earner. To consider it took all of 72 minutes in the ring (twelve rounds of three minutes each against opponents Canelo Alvarez and Marcos Maidana) is a rather sobering statistic.

Real Madrid soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo ranks second overall with total earnings of $80 million.

LeBron James is third on the list with earnings of $72.3 million due in large part to major endorsement contracts.
