(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–Erica Hagen beat, robbed, and tried to strangle the driver of the Western Taxi in which she was riding, commandeered the cab, ran over the driver and then pinned him against a wall. Driving away, Hagen later crashed the cab, and stole the car of a good Samaritan who had stopped to see if she was OK.
The bizarre details of the events–which has landed Hagen in the Clark County Detention Center charged with multiple crimes, including attempted murder–are contained in a police report released Wednesday.
The incident began on May 21st when Western Cab driver Yohannes Tsegaye picked up a fare at the Plaza Hotel and drove her to an area near Rancho and Decatur.
Thats when an irate Hagen began choking him, hit him with a rock, and stole money from his pockets, telling him, “You’re going to die today.”
As the driver pulled over and fled the cab, Hagen allegedly took the wheel and ran over Tsegaye, pinning him against a fence.
Five minutes later, while still driving the cab, Hagen ran a red light at Cheyenne and Jones and collided with other vehicles. When a passerby stopped to offer assistance, Hagen pulled the man out of his car and drove away in it.
She was eventually arrested ten days later at a residence on Pirate’s Cove. The 42 year old has a past criminal record, according to the police report.
Hagen is currently facing the following charges:Battery by Strangulation; Robbery with Deadly Weapon;Attempted Murder with Deadly Weapon;Battery with Deadly Weapon;Duty to Stop at Scene of an Accident; 2 counts Grand Larceny of Auto Robbery
