SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (CBS Las Vegas) – Payton Curry, a chef at the Brat Haus in Scottsdale, Arizona, is offering cooking classes on how to prepare edible marijuana.
“If you don’t have your card, you don’t get it,” Curry told KTVK-TV.
Curry has a marijuana card to treat his anxiety and depression. He was also trained at the Culinary Institute of America in New York.
He teaches others how to use the proper ratio of weights to fat for their body weight, height, and metabolism.
Curry is not afraid these side classes will put his successful restaurant at risk. “I am not worried about making people healthy,” he said. “I know that it worked for me, and for me to be able to stop drinking.”
He went on to say that medical marijuana turned his life around. He wants to teach others how to do the same now that marijuana extracts have been legalized in Arizona; and he has received plenty of requests. “Churches, lawyers, police officers, a fire marshal,” he said are some of the many requests he has received so far.
“I want the medicinal properties of this,” Curry added. “I don’t want to get stoned out of my mind and eat Cheetos with peanut butter and listen to the Grateful Dead.”
