(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–A man who assaulted a woman with a taser and carjacked her vehicle gets a 15 year federal prison term.
Keith Costa inquired about an apartment rental on West Charleston Boulevard last July, accosted a tenant, and demanded her car keys.
He pushed her to the ground and tased her 7 or 8 times retrieved her keys and sped away. The woman, an exchange student from Thailand, was seriously injured and hospitalized.
Costa later led cops on a chase reaching speeds of 140 miles an hour and eluded them. He was found and apprehended two days later at a motel on Tropicana and was in possession of a stolen handgun.
