Heist in Utah; Suspect Headed For Las Vegas

ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — Police in Utah have arrested a suspected bank robber on a Greyhound bus bound for Las Vegas.

Authorities intercepted the bus south of St. George about 2 a.m. Wednesday and arrested 29-year-old Chris Peek of Lancaster, California.

St. George police say he’s a suspect in the robbery of a Wells Fargo Bank branch in Ogden. They say he allegedly entered the bank just before 4 p.m. Tuesday and passed a note to a teller demanding money.

Police Sgt. Sam Despain tells The (St. George) Spectrum  that Peek was in possession of some money that investigators think they can link to the robbery in Ogden. He’s been booked on a misdemeanor charge of receiving stolen property. His bail has been set at $50,000.
