( Reno, NV ) – The two Republicans running for lieutenant governor squared off in a televised debate Monday night.
Former State Sen. Sue Lowden and current Assemblyman Mark Hutchison traded barbs over his votes to go ahead with the state’s health insurance exchange, despite his opposition to the Affordable Care Act.
They also sparred over Lowden’s 600-thousand dollars in unpaid campaign debts from her failed 2010 U.S. Senate run.
Governor Brian Sandoval has endorsed Hutchison, and the winner will likely face Democrat Lucy Flores in November.
One of the few things both agreed on during last night’s event: opposing the legalization of marijuana for recreational use.
