(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–Las Vegas Metro Police say the man sought in a fatal hit and run accident west of the Strip Wednesday night is in custody.
49 year old Edward Barber turned himself into a police substation during the noon hour Wednesday.
He had been sought after he allegedly fled from an accident that killed an elderly woman and critically injured another man.
Police think Barber’s GMC Yukon was involved in a collision with the other vehicle, than collided with three other vehicles before the driver fled.
He was seen at one point entering the front of a nearby lounge and exiting the back door.
The accident occurred near Charles Blvd and Arville.
Police spokesman Jose Hernandez tells KXNT that Barer is housed at the Clark County Deention Center and is being held for now on the following charges: duty to stop at the scene of an accident involving death or personal injury, driving without a license, and driving without proof of insurance.
