HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Police continue to investigate the death of a 39-year-old Henderson woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle while trying to cross a street in Henderson.
Police say Yvonne Harris was crossing at an intersection of East Lake Mead Parkway Saturday night. The corner had a crosswalk but witnesses say she was crossing against the crosswalk signals at the time.
She was taken to a hospital, where she died later Saturday night.
The vehicle driver, 27-year-old Martel Cage, voluntarily submitted to a blood test to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.
Police say a preliminary investigation shows speed also does not appear to be a factor.
