(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–Richard Schlacta has been sentenced to two consecutive terms of life in prison in the sexual assault of a 13 year old girl on the first day of school last year.
Schlacta is an ex-convict from California who pleaded guilty to kidnapping and sexual assault earlier this year in a plea bargain.
The incident occurred last August when Schlacta accosted the student at knife point at a middle school as she was locking her bicycle. The girl was dragged behind the school and assaulted. Police found Schlacta nearby shortly after the incident. Schlacta is a career criminal who had nine prior felony convictions at the time of his arrest.
