(Las Vegas, NV) — Get ready to press a few more numbers when you make a local call.

Starting Saturday, Clark County residents will have to dial the area code along with the seven digit phone number.

The change will allow use of a new 725 area code for Southern Nevada, in addition to the current 702 code.

People who forget will get a recording, telling them to hang up and try again.

Phone numbers with the 725 area code can be issued starting in June.

For more details and tips on reprogramming your devices, check with your carrier or visit the Public Utilities Commission’s website.
