Candidate Loses Ballot Battle

(Carson City, NV) — The Nevada Supreme Court says state controller candidate John Michael Schaefer can be removed from the June primary ballot.

The secretary of state’s office says Schaefer did not meet Nevada’s residency requirement.

According to the Los Angeles City Clerk’s office, Schaefer declared his residency in Southern California nearly two years ago.

Schaefer insists that he lives in a Las Vegas condominium that he also rents out to several other people.

The ruling upholds a lower court decision against Schaefer.
