(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–Firefly, operators of local restaurants, has closed its Henderson location on Eastern Avenue. Its workers have been let go, but the owners say they will work to find them positions elsewhere in the company.
The restaurant was recently flagged for 38 health department violations during a recent inspection. It elevated its grade from a C to an A during a follow-up inspection. Firefly’s Tapas Restaurant on Paradise Road was the site of an outbreak of salmonella last year that sickened hundreds and prompted scores of lawsuits.
A statement from John and Tabitha Simmons, the Firefly owners, says the decision to close the Henderson location was due to “changing demands and market competition.”
It says the decision will allow the company to focus on the two highest performing locations and allow the firm to refine their latest restaurant concept, called Tacos & Beer, which will be located on Paradise Road.
