( Las Vegas, NV ) – Legendary former UNLV basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian has been admitted to a local hospital.
Family members tell KXNT he is being treated for pneumonia and heart-related issues.
The 83-year-old Tarkanian showed signs of weakness during a trip to the Dallas area to attend the Final Four.
He was taken to Valley Hospital’s emergency room late Wednesday and underwent a series of tests.
Tarnakian is the only coach to lead the Runnin’ Rebels to an NCAA College Basketball Championship.
The coach, who last year was inducted into the basketball Hall Of Fame, has had numerous health issues in recent years.
