(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–The Clark County School District says it hopes to add 2,000 teachers for the 2014-15 school year, hoping that between 300-500 of them will be new hires.

The district is hoping the hires will help alleviate overcrowding conditions in kindergarten and elementary school grades while compensating for retirements and resignations among current faculty.

CCSD also wants to hire as many as 500 more support personnel for the coming school year, positions ranging from classroom assistants to bus drivers.

CCSD is the 7th largest school district in the nation, with enrollment of more than 300,000.
