MOAB, Utah (AP) — Authorities in eastern Utah are looking for an overdue helicopter and the two men aboard.

Grand County Sheriff Steven White says 38-year-old Robin Venuti of Washington, Utah and 36-year-old Albert Rubio of Beaver left the area of Green River, Utah Sunday morning.

Officials say the pair set out in the chopper about 11 a.m. Sunday to search for elk antler sheds.

The helicopter was reported missing about nine hours later.

Officials with the Utah Department of Public Safety are using their own helicopter and infrared sensor to search for the aircraft.

Authorities say they’ve contacted nearby airports to see whether the helicopter landed there, but nothing has turned up so far. Efforts to detect the pings of the riders’ cellphones have also been unproductive.
