(Washington, DC) — Congressman Steven Horsford has been named to the House Financial Services Committee.

The panel handles bills related to housing, banking and insurance.  He will be one of 28 Democrats serving on the panel, along with 33 Republicans.

The freshman Congressman says it will give him an opportunity to be, “a strong voice for Nevada’s middle class.”

Horsford also serves on three other House committees.

He will leave the Homeland Security Committee, and request a waiver to stay on either the Oversight and Government Reform Committee or the Natural Resources Committee.
