Puppies From Pet Shop Fire All Adopted

Animal Foundation: All In "Forever Homes"

LAS VEGAS (AP) — An animal shelter raffle is complete and puppies taken in after they were rescued from a Las Vegas shop fire two months ago have new homes.

The Animal Foundation said Monday that it placed the last of 25 puppies during the weekend with winners from among 222 raffle entries submitted at $250 apiece.

Eleven other raffle participants adopted other dogs.

Two adult dogs rescued from the Jan. 27 fire were placed by A Home 4 Spot rescue group.

Adoptions had been stalled by a dispute between the nonprofit foundation and a managing owner of the burned Prince and Princess pet shop.

Both claimed ownership after store owner Gloria Lee and a co-defendant, Kirk Bills, were charged with setting the fire for the insurance money.

They’re due for trial July 7.
