(Las Vegas, NV) — Local military veterans are being offered some much needed help.

Hot meals, showers, medical and dental care are just some of the services homeless and at-risk vets can get today and tomorrow as part of the 11th annual Veteran’s Stand Down.

Event organizers and more than 120 local service groups are offering even more, long term solutions.

Counselors are helping with employment, housing and VA benefit problems.

Last year more than 900 veterans and 200 of their family and friends got the help they needed.

Veteran’s Standdown is going on the Cashnman Center today and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to  4:30 p.m.

More details are available at the United State Veterans Initiative website.
