(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–Congresswoman Dina Titus has filed for re-election in Nevada’s First District in Congress.
“It is an honor to represent the First District and a privilege to work on behalf of our community,” said Titus. “I’m running for re-election because there is still much work to be done to improve our economy and create new jobs. I will continue to work to expand opportunities for all Southern Nevadans and advocate on behalf of our seniors, veterans, and working families. From drafting legislation to resolving constituent cases, I am committed to building a better future for District One.”
Titus handily won election in the district in 2012, after being defeated by Joe Heck in the Third District race two years earlier.
Titus is Georgia-born and has been a political science professor, teaching government at UNLV for 30 years. She served 20 years in the Nevada legislature and was minority leader in the state senate for sixteen years.
