Metro: Suspect Broke Away, Pulled Weapon
(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–Metro Police say the suspect they shot seven times at a Dotty’s casino parking lot last week had broken away from officers, and pulled a pellet gun that was a replica of a Black Ops Colt handgun.
Additionally, police say their review after the shooting of parole extradition notes from Ohio explicitly said 26 year old Jason Mahe was a ‘suicide by cop’ risk with a violent past and long criminal history.
Mahe allegedly passed counterfeit bills at a convenience store on Rancho Drive last Tuesday night and police answered a call that he was at the Dotty’s nearby. Police say he went outside with the arriving officers but pulled away and displayed the weapon.
Police say all of Mahe’s wounds were sustained in the stomach or below. He remains hospitalized at UMC and has been booked at the County Detention Center in absentia.
Last week, Metro disclosed the names of three officers involved in the encounter and that they had been placed on routine paid administrative leave pending review of the case.
