GEORGE NOORY IN LAS VEGAS: Get tickets now -- be there June 9!

(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–A union seeking to represent cab drivers at Lucky Cab have won yet another labor victory but finds itself back to where it started nearly three years ago.

Local 4873 of the Industrial, Technical, and Professional Employees Union narrowly lost a vote to unionize Lucky in 2011. But during the campaign, six drivers were fired by the company and were later ordered re-instated with pay by a National Labor Relations Board ruling.

The Board has again recently ruled in the union’s favor and again ordered that another union vote be taken.

But union spokesman Sam Moffit tells KXNT he has learned that Lucky owner Jason Awad is again appealing the ruling.

“He’s got all the money in the world. He’s using this as a way to save face. He’s going to drag this thing out as long as humanly possible”, said Moffit in an interview with KXNT.

“This is utterly ridiculous. Most people–most normal people–would say ‘this is a loser’ And it is a loser”, said Moffit.
