(Las Vegas, NV) – United Blood Services is calling on the Las Vegas community for blood donations. It has put out an urgent appeal for O blood type donations.
Danny Cervantes, the Regional Donor Recruitment Director at United Blood Services says it needs 170 donations a day to keep up with the local demand. And nationwide, every two to three seconds, someone needs blood.
Cervantes says they need NEW donors because their regular donors gave earlier in the year, and now they have to wait 8 weeks to donate again.
You can go to United Blood Services website for a full list of donation locations around the valley.
Volunteer blood donors must be at least 17 year old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Additional height and weight requirements apply to donors ages 22 and younger.
