(Henderson, NV)  —  A new call center in Henderson will have about 400 employees by the end of the year.

Barclaycard U.S. held a ribbon cutting for the new facility Thursday, and gave Governor Brian Sandoval and other officials a tour.

The British banking giant’s new office was once the headquarters of online retailer Zappos.com.

“We’re very excited to become a member of the Henderson community,” said Patrick Wright, Chief Operating Officer for Barclaycard US. “We are focused on enhancing the customer experience with our business. This state-of-the-art center coupled with the fantastic workforce in Nevada will help us accomplish this.”

Employees at the Henderson center will be full-time and receive generous benefits such as health insurance, dental insurance, vision coverage and a 401K plan with matching corporate contributions.

They will earn an average of just over $14 an hour.
