OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A Utah medical examiner says a teenage girl who prosecutors allege died from an overdose after a night of drugs and sex with an older couple had enormous amounts of methamphetamine and heroin in her system.
Joseph White’s testimony came Friday in Ogden during the third day of the trial of 38-year-old Eric Millerberg. He is charged with felony child abuse homicide.
White says lab tests show 16-year-old Alexis Rasmussen died in 2011 with seven times the lethal amount of methamphetamine. White says her death was highly suspicious and likely the result of the drugs.
But he stopped short of listing drug overdose as the cause of death because he couldn’t rule out other possibilities such as strangulation. Her body was badly decomposed after being found 38 days after her death.
