(North Las Vegas, NV) — North Las Vegas’ projected budget hole is deeper than expected.
At a special city council meeting last night, officials warned they may have to pay a settlement over union pay raises.
Last month, a judge ruled the city could not suspend collectively-bargained salary hikes.
North Vegas’ deficit could rise to as much as $300-million through the year 2021.
Mayor John Lee is optimistic the city “can pull out of this,” but no specific plan has been announced.
Another special meeting is set for next Tuesday.
