LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say a hit-and-run crash has killed a pedestrian.

Lt. Ken Romane tells the Las Vegas Sun that a motorist driving a 2006 Nissan Altima struck the pedestrian crossing Las Vegas Boulevard on the south side of Agate Avenue around 4 a.m. Saturday.

Las Vegas Metro police say in a statement 22-year-old Peter Whitaker of Las Vegas was arrested. They say he had fled into a neighborhood and was later found at his home. Police say Whitaker was booked into the Clark County jail on suspicion of felony hit and run.

The 39-year-old Las Vegas man who died has not yet been identified.
