Accused Puppy Store Arsonist In Jail
(Las Vegas, KXNT)- Accused arsonist Gloria Lee has been sent back to jail. On Friday morning, a judge increased Lee’s bail to $310,ooo.
The increase in bail comes just two days after the District Attorney added on 29 charges, including 1 count of burglary, 1 count of conspiracy to commit burglary and 27 counts of attempted cruelty to animals. Lee was initially booked last week on first degree arson and conspiracy to commit arson. Her initial bail in the case was set at $40,000. A few days after posting that initial bail, the judge ordered her to house arrest.
However, her semi-freedom was short-lived. Lee was taken away in handcuffs inside of the courtroom on Friday morning. No word on if she will be able to post the new amount of bail set. She is due back in court on Tuesday, February 11.
According to fire investigators, Lee, who owns Prince and Princesses Pet Shop on S. Rainbow, was seen on surveillance video letting in alleged co-conspirator Kirk Bills through a back door of the shop. Bills is allegedly shown spraying the contents of a gasoline can all over the store, including on kennels that housed 27 puppies. Bills eventually sets fires to the store. Both Lee and Bills are seen on video leaving the premises.
Thanks to a sprinkler system and firefighters, all 27 puppies survived the fire.
Bills has yet to be arrested, but an arrest warrant has been issued.
