(Las Vegas, NV) — The Southern Nevada Health District is receiving more reports of influenza-related deaths.
Since the beginning of this flu season, 12 people have died. Three of the deaths were in young adults, including a pediatric patient, three were middle aged and five were elderly individuals.
Officials say the illness can be avoided, and urge flu shots for everyone 6 months of age and older. They are available at many local pharmacies or from the Southern Nevada Health District. More information is available at the Health District’s website.
