(Las Vegas, KXNT) – UNLV is looking for a new President, and there could be one as soon as tomorrow. The Board of Regents will meet and pick a new President, or decide to start a national search.
Chancellor Dan Klaich has been collecting notes on what the campus and community want in a new President. Mostly, he found that people want to continue the positive direction laid out by former President Neal Smatresk and his team.
Klaich says development of a medical school, the stadium project, and hotel school are all important to the school and community.
UPDATE: Don Snyder, a reired executive at Boyd Gaming will be recommended as acting president at UNLV.
Snyder is named in a memo sent to Regents by Dan Klaich the chancellor of the System of Higher Education, as reported in the Las Vegas Review Journal.
Klaich is expected to make the recommendation to the Regents when they meet Friday on campus.
