(Las Vegas, NV — Clark County School District trustees hold a public meeting on February 22nd to make a final decision on rezoning. Officials say it would take 23 news schools to ease the overcrowding and that isn’t financially feasible.
CCSD Public Information Specialist Penny Ramos Bennett tells the KXNT Morning News the Attendance Zone Advisory Commission is recommending that 919 students be rezoned, about 13 schools would be impacted, losing or gaining students.
Bennett says CCSD Superintendent of Schools Pat Skorkowsky is also considering making some schools year round. She says he’s looking at 39 schools but not all would be changed. His decision is expected in mid February.
All changes would take effect in the beginning of the next school year.
