( Las Vegas, NV ) - A 4-year-old boy has died in a house fire in the southeast valley. Neighbor David Bennett and others tried to help but say the smoke was too thick and the fire was too hot.

Clark County Firefighters were able to put out the fire about 10 minutes after arriving at the house near Warm Springs and the 215 beltway.

The boy’s mother and a sibling were home at the time but they got out safely.

Metro Police say they always investigate when there’s a death in a house fire, but Lt Ray Steiber says they’re not operating on the premise that there was anything criminal in the incident.

The boy has been identified as  Maximiliano Rene Ibarra-Martinez. Unconfirmed reports say he may have been autistic.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were two deaths in house fires in Clark County last year compared to 12 in 2012
