LAS VEGAS (AP) — O.J. Simpson’s lawyers have until mid-April to file their written Nevada Supreme Court appeal for a new trial for the former football star in his Las Vegas armed robbery case.
Simpson attorney Patricia Palm pointed this week to a state high court order setting a 120-day schedule on the claim that Simpson’s trial lawyer botched his case and Simpson didn’t receive a fair trial.
That Dec. 20 order voided a Monday deadline for what would have been expedited high court review.
Simpson is serving nine to 33 years in prison for kidnapping, armed robbery and other charges.
A judge ruled Nov. 26 that Simpson’s trial attorney made errors, but that his current attorneys failed to demonstrate it changed the outcome of his case.
The judge called evidence against Simpson overwhelming.
