RENO, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say they have captured an inmate who walked away from his work assignment in Reno.
The Nevada Department of Corrections announced Friday evening that Dustin Cottiero had been found. Another inmate who escaped with him, Corey Gomez, remains at large.
The inmates vanished on Wednesday afternoon while they were on a project near Interstate 80 and McCarran Boulevard.
Cottiero is serving one to three years after an attempted burglary conviction out of Washoe County. Gomez is serving three to eight years after being convicted of burglary and resisting an officer in Clark County.
Both were assigned to the Stewart Conservation Camp in Carson City, and were working on a project with the Nevada Division of Forestry.
