Teen Girl Stable After Jumping From Car During Fight With Mother

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Troopers say a 17-year-old girl was in stable condition after jumping from a moving car on a busy stretch of Interstate 15 through Las Vegas.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson says the teen opened the passenger door of the Honda Civic her mother was driving and jumped out about 1:15 p.m. Thursday near the Charleston Boulevard exit.

Hixson says the girl was taken to University Medical Center and treated for injuries to her arms, legs and head.

Authorities say the mother and daughter had been arguing, but it wasn’t clear what the dispute was about.
