(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)– Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman made good on a bet she made–and lost–to a Texas mayor over the Heart of Dallas Bowl football game played on New Year’s Day.
Goodman appeared at a Las Vegas City Council meeting wearing a University of North Texas T-shirt. The UNLV Rebels lost the bowl game to UNT, 36-14. Prior to the game, Goodman and Denton, Texas Mayor Mark Burroughs made a friendly wager that the loser of the game would wear an opponent’s jersey at the next scheduled council meeting.
The bet also involved the losing mayor making a $100 donation to the opposing school’s athletic department.
