SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Salt Lake City firefighters say they rescued a man who fell into a water-filled pit outside a Chinese food restaurant.
Authorities say man was headed to pick up some takeout at the East Sea restaurant Sunday evening when he walked over some plywood and fell through it into the hole.
Officials say people in the parking lot heard the man yelling for help and called 911.
Rescue crews say the man had a leg injury and couldn’t get himself out of the waist-deep water.
Salt Lake City Fire spokesman Jasen Asay says crews had the man out of the hole within 30 minutes, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
