Girl, 5, Killed In Fernley; Driver Accused Of DUI

FERNLEY, Nev. (AP) — Lyon County deputies say a 5-year-old girl is dead after being hit by a driver who may have under the influence.

Officials say the crash happened about 4 p.m. Thursday on 7th Street in Fernley.

The girl succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Fifty-three-year-old driver Patricia Anderson was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing death, and was being held on $40,000 bail.

Deputies have not yet released the girl’s name.
