CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles is shutting down its central computer system overnight to make repairs that have caused outages in recent days.
Officials say a water leak from an air conditioning system damaged servers and caused an outage on De. 29.
Another outage occurred Friday morning, disrupting operations at the DMV’s 16 offices statewide.
Repairs and upgrades are planned Friday night, meaning the system will be down from 8 p.m. until around 2 a.m. Saturday. Officials say the agency’s website, kiosks and vehicle identification database used for emissions testing will be unavailable during those hours.
