(Las Vegas, NV) — The rise in home prices is up 13.6 percent over this time in 2012, according to the latest Standard and Poor’s/Case-Shiller 20-city index. Las Vegas recorded the biggest year over year home price increase, up 27 percent. September to October numbers stayed steady.

Craig Lazzara, Head of Index Investment Strategy at S&P Dow Jones Indices says the housing market is solid. Lazzara says the numbers should stay positive but probably won’t continue at the pace it’s been going, since it’s such a massive increase.

Los Angeles and San Francisco posted large year over year increases too.
