Murder Suspect Surrenders In Standoff
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A man believed to be a suspect in a California slaying has surrendered to police after barricading himself in a Las Vegas apartment.
Las Vegas police say the man walked out of the unit a little after 1 a.m. Tuesday, about seven hours after the standoff began at the Camden Point Apartments on East Tropicana Avenue.
Authorities say another man, a woman and the woman’s child also came out of the apartment and appeared to be unharmed. Police say they’re investigating whether those people were being held against their will.
Police couldn’t immediately confirm Tuesday morning whether the man was the same person wanted in the California killing, or whether he had a weapon during the standoff.
