LAS VEGAS (AP) — The U.S. Secretary of Education is visiting Las Vegas to tour schools and discuss the president’s college ratings system.
Arne Duncan will start his day Wednesday at the Mandalay Bay casino to speak about college affordability at a conference for financial aid officers.
He’ll then head to Walter Bracken STEAM Academy, a school that was named a 2013 National Blue Ribbon School.
Duncan’s next scheduled stop is East Career Technical Academy, where he plans to discuss the president’s proposal to strengthen career and technical education.
The last stop of the day will be the Las Vegas Hotel. He’ll be giving an evening speech at the annual conference of the Association for Career and Technical Education.
