LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Clark County grand jury has indicted a Las Vegas man on several charges involving the alleged prostitution of a 16-year-old girl from Utah.
Thirty-two-year-old Ian Lloyd was charged Friday with one count each of kidnapping, sex trafficking and living off the earnings of a prostitute. He also was charged with two counts of child abuse and neglect.
Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto says Lloyd is the first defendant to be charged under a new sex trafficking law, which took effect July 1.
Authorities allege Lloyd persuaded a 16-year-old girl from Ogden, Utah to come to Las Vegas with the intent of using her as a prostitute.
Prosecutors also allege Lloyd took his 3-year-old daughter with him while transporting the teenager to customers.
