Las Vegas Man Gets 14 Years For Child Pornography
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Las Vegas man convicted of receiving and possessing child pornography has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison and lifetime supervision.
Sixty-nine-year-old Steven Byington was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro on one count each of receipt and possession of child pornography. He was convicted by a jury in June.
Nevada U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden says Byington was arrested in 2010 after an investigation revealed he was making child porn available through an Internet file sharing site.
Bogden says agents found more than 1,400 images, including 13 videos, when they seized four computers and external hard drives during a search of Byington’s home.
