SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (AP) — Autopsies are scheduled Sunday as police investigate the deaths of two boys, ages 15 and 12, found dead after a shooting in a Salt Lake City-area home.
South Jordan police say it isn’t immediately clear if the deaths were accidental, intentional or the result of a suicide pact.
But they say they don’t believe a shooter is on the loose.
The department released a statement Saturday saying police obtained a warrant and searched the West Pine Canyon Lane house after the bodies were discovered about 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Officials say an off-duty West Valley City police officer driving through the neighborhood was flagged down by one of three other youngsters who had been in the home when shots were fired.
Police found the two boys dead in the basement.
