WSOP “Final 9” Down To Final 2

World Series of Poker Jackpot: $8.4 Million

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Three players who hung on during four hours of grueling play were eliminated in quick succession early Tuesday morning, leaving a Las Vegas club promoter and a young pro from Michigan one card session away from the World Series of Poker prize — an $8.4 million crown.

Ryan Riess eliminated Amir Lehavot in third place with a pair of 10s, treading past five meaningless community cards to set the Tuesday night showdown.

His opponent in the Las Vegas no-limit Texas Hold ’em tournament is 29-year-old amateur Jay Farber.

Lehavot won $3.7 million for third place.

JC Tran, the best known of the players and the favorite to win the tournament, busted out in fifth place after struggling all night with a string of weak hands.
