(Las Vegas, NV) — A new 20,000 seat arena on the Las Vegas Strip is taking shape.
The $350-million project by MGM Resorts and entertainment giant AEG will be located between the New York-New York and Monte Carlo resorts.
The renderings show a 12 story glass and steel structure with an LED screen spanning more than 5 acres.
Groundbreaking is set for the spring of 2014, with a scheduled opening in 2016.
The arena will feature concerts, boxing, mixed martial arts, award shows and other events.
It’s not the only major venue planned for Vegas. An eleven-member panel is studying whether to build a new football stadium on the UNLV campus.
