Las Vegas – The Rebels had a tough night at the Thomas and Mack Friday losing to visiting Dixie State 71-70.

UNLV had a 38-37 half-time lead but sloppy play in the second half hampered UNLV as they finished the game with 20 turnovers and 14 missed free throws.

Junior Khem Birch led the way for the Rebels with 10 points and 15 rebounds, Roscoe Smith added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.

This isn’t the first time the Rebels have struggled against Dixie State, last season UNLV survived overtime to beat the Red Storm 81-80.

Next up for the Rebels is another exhibition game as they welcome Adams State to the Thomas and Mack on Tuesday November 5th.
