{Las Vegas, NV) – The founder of the online retailer Zappos is as gung-ho as he’s ever been on the future of downtown Las Vegas.

Tony Hsieh spoke with KXNT about number of topics, including his vision for the area. He says his goal is, “. . to help make downtown Vegas a place of inspiration, entrepreneurial energy, creativity, innovation [and] upward mobility.”

He says there is a palpable energy change in the area and points to the success of last weekend’s “Life Is Beautiful” festival.

According to Hsieh, downtown is an exciting place to live now. His “Downtown Project” has around 200 active programs either underway or in the works and that there are business openings in the area almost every other week.

He also says his employees are settling into their new headquarters in the old Las Vegas City Hall – and that they’re gearing up for the online holiday shopping season.
